Due to the design characteristics of the magnetic pump, it is generally not necessary to maintain, but in order to ensure its normal operation and safe work, process monitoring devices should be used and strictly managed.
- The inlet tank level protection control is necessary, the inlet tank should be equipped with a level transmitter or level switch, when the inlet tank level is reduced to a certain extent, the operation of the pump will automatically stop to protect the pump. Differential pressure sensors and switches should be installed to measure the differential pressure at the pump outlet and inlet, and automatically stop the pump when the differential pressure is lower than the set value to protect the pump.
- The pump body should be equipped with a temperature sensor to monitor the temperature of the magnetic stator and pump bearing, and protect the bearing and magnetic stator. In order to avoid cavitation, magnetic pumps require a minimum suction head when transporting easily vaporized fluids. The vibration of the pump is very small, and large vibration and noise indicate failure.
- The pump outlet should be equipped with a level control valve, according to the level of the inlet tank to adjust the displacement of the conveying medium. In order to ensure normal operation, the pump should be ensured to work within the flow and head range shown in Figure 2, and the minimum and maximum working flow and head are indicated on the performance curve.
Pump inlet pipe and outlet pipe should be supported to prevent the transfer of additional load to the pump, the pump can not be used as a force point in the pipeline, to ensure that the pipeline system has thermal expansion and provide compensation measures.
When the positive suction head is low, the inlet line should be as short as possible to prevent cavitation. The inlet pipe should be of appropriate size to ensure that the fluid flow rate does not exceed 3m/s; When conveying easily vaporized fluid or liquefied gas, ensure that the flow rate does not exceed 3m/s; When conveying easily vaporized fluids or liquefied gas, ensure that the flow rate does not exceed 1m/s.
A regulating valve should be installed in the outlet line to adjust the flow and head of the pump. When a longer outlet line is used or two pumps are used in parallel, an additional one-way check valve is recommended. In order to achieve continuous operation of the pump, it is recommended to install a return pipe and install a minimum flow orifice plate to ensure that the sliding bearing has sufficient lubrication and cooling during continuous operation.
The entire piping system and auxiliary piping should be carefully cleaned to prevent iron chips, welding slag or other foreign objects from entering the magnetic pump. For newly built piping systems, the inlet piping should be equipped with a filter.
