It is expected that by 2025, the demand for petrochemicals will be higher than the annual demand for ethylene by 50 million tons. If the domestic self-sufficiency rate remains at 60%, then the domestic ethylene demand will increase by 6 million tons a year. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the annual production capacity of ethylene by 2.5 million to 3 million tons in the next three to five years.
